It is with deepest regret that I advise the passing of John Hackett LA2QAA SK
John was a regular on the Victorian D Star Net every Thursday evening
John took particular pride in the fact that he was on Frei Island, off the coast of Denmark, would be Controller for the Net.
We all thought it was funny when John would say that his nurse, Ljudmilla, was standing behind him with a big needle, and he was about to take one for Queen and Country. We never did get that photo of Ljudmilla.
I understand John is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth.
The group will miss John’s quick wit and his jokes about the colonials “Down under” in Australia & New Zealand.
Rest in peace mate
